Bed Dilemma

All the bedrooms in my house are roughly the same size. What makes my bedroom the "master" bedroom is the size of the closet. It is by far the biggest and has a his/her quality to it. Although I claim it all as my own. The one down side to my bedroom is the lack of options when it comes to arranging furniture. And my bed was no exception.

For about a year, I had my bed at an angle. It was right in between the 2 windows and I had room to walk around it when I made it. But it took up so much space. I also got a little bored with this.

So I moved it. I am limited to this side of the room because the other wall that could be used has a dresser against it.

But the side of the bed was right against the wall. It was such a pain to try and make because I was having to move it. I also don't think Luna was really thrilled with this option.

So I moved it again. This is the option I like the best. I have so much more floor space even with a little bit of room to walk around the bed.

I am also going to get 2 more curtains. When the bed was in the middle it wasn't too bad only having one curtain on each window, but now I don't like it. Now I have to decide what to put above the bed.

One Mess At A Time - The Dresser

When my stuff arrived from Pennsylvania, most of it was put in the garage. I did have a few heavy pieces that were moved upstairs, like my dresser. For quite a few weeks, it was the only piece of furniture with a flat surface so it became a catch-all for everything. But it was time to get a little order because I hated looking at it.

Some things do not have a place quite yet, but i am trying to at least put them in the right room. For instance, I had all my file folders lying on the dresser. Even though I don't have a spot for them, I put them in the closet of my one-day-will-be craft room/personal office. I did throw away a lot of stuff that had started piling up for no good reason.

I was finally able to pull my jewelry box out of the bag it had been sitting in. My jewelry is now accessible so I can wear it. It also got a good dusting.

On the other side is all the stuff I use to make me smell pretty. In my apartment I had a tray that I put my lotions and sprays on, but I think it is going to find a new home in the bathroom once it is unpacked.

Now I have a clean space in my bedroom. Eventually I would like to get a mirror for above the dresser. But that is another project for another day!

What Did I Walk Into? Part 2

I shared pictures of the downstairs yesterday. Thankfully, the upstairs really only required painting. Even though painting is the only thing that needed to be done, it was quite a bit of painting.

This is the master bedroom. The closet is what makes it the master bedroom. The closet is over 10 feet wide. But the Pepto Bismol pink has to go! Everything is pink...the walls, the trim, the windows, the outlet covers, the outlets. However, walking into that room should help with indigestion. :)

This room is going to be my craft room and home office. I chose this to be the craft room because it has 2 windows to bring in lots of outdoor light. The paint job really isn't that bad. It just isn't the color I would choose.

This room is going to be my work office. It is the smallest of the bedrooms Since I work from home, I wanted a place where I could close the door to separate my home from work. This allows me to do that.

This room is staying as-is for a little while. It will be a spare bedroom, but I don't know what I want to do with it quite yet. And I don't have a bed to put in there anyway, so it will be completely empty.

These rooms have great hardwood floors. Nothing needs to be done with them. Someday, I wouldn't mind staining them to be a darker color. But that project is years down the road.

These rooms won't have dramatic before and after pictures, but they will look so much nicer when they are painted and decorated.
